Jennifer Moore

Jen is a social anthropologist and research and evaluation practitioner with a PhD in Social Anthropology from the University of Manchester. She specialises in ethnographic, qualitative, and mixed methods research, particularly to understand how development programmes work in practice: how interventions are designed, translated across contexts, measured, and adapted by the people and organisations involved in delivering them.

Her doctoral research drew on twelve months of multi-sited ethnographic fieldwork in the UK and Uganda, focused on menstrual health and the opportunities and challenges of transnational development partnerships.

Jen has worked with NGOs and social enterprises across the UK and East Africa on research, monitoring and evaluation, needs assessments, and programme learning. Her work has ranged from research informing gender-sensitive emergency responses in the UK and Uganda to developing monitoring tools and practical resources for organisations working in menstrual health, gender equality, education, and WASH.
