Bodhi conducted an evaluation of the UK’s Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Helpdesk, managed by Saferworld, which aims to support the UK Government in assessing and enhancing its commitments under UN Security Council Resolution (SCR) 1325. The overall purpose of the evaluation was to document evidence of the outcomes and wider impact of the WPS Helpdesk’s objectives. It provided key lessons about successful approaches to WPS and gender capacity development within the UK Government and operational practices to implement knowledge and skills, and also highlighted areas where the helpdesk performed less effectively than anticipated or had unintended outcomes. The evaluation generated and documented good practices, especially with regards to the helpdesk partnership approach and innovations. Finally, it provided a rich source of information for future programming and provided accountability to Integrated Security Fund and UK Government users.
