Bodhi is currently assessing community-based child protection mechanisms (CBCPMs) in Somalia for Save the Children. The study focuses on their scale, quality, and effectiveness in Somaliland, Puntland, and the Southern States. It explores CBCPMs’ roles in addressing child protection issues, gender-based violence, and harmful social norms such as child marriage and FGM. Employing a child rights-based and systems strengthening approach, the assessment aims to provide insights into CBCPMs’ integration with formal systems, contributions to prevention and response efforts, and recommendations for sustainability and scalability.
