Bodhi was contracted to run an endline evaluation of the four-year Gavi 5.0 Programme (2022-2026), the newest phase of a partnership between Girl Effect (GE) and Gavi on routine childhood immunisation (RI) and human papillomavirus vaccine (HPV) demand generation. The evaluation will cover the second phase of implementation from 2023 to 2025 and look at three regions, Lindi, Katavi and Tabora within Tanzania. Both HPV vaccines and RI have invaluable health benefits, as well as positive economic effects. With Sub-Saharan Africa suffering from the highest rates of cervical HPV prevalence among women in the world, the importance of immunisation is paramount. Bodhi will be evaluating GE's intervention and impact on drivers, intent and uptake of HPV vaccine for eligible girls and on drivers, intent and uptake of Routine Immunisation in target populations in both countries. We are collecting quantitative data against the baseline to offer a concrete understanding of programme's outcome, as well as qualitative data to evaluate the effectiveness, efficiency, impact and sustainability of the programme. Bodhi will also provide recommendations, capture lessons learned and highlight best practices for the next phase and for other similar programmes.
