Baseline Assessment of Broadening Emergency and Graduation Efforts (BEGE)

Mercy Corps

Bodhi conducted a gender and conflict-sensitive baseline assessment of Mercy Corps' Broadening Emergency and Graduation Efforts (BEGE) programme in Nigeria. The BEGE programme aims to deliver lifesaving, life-sustaining interventions and enhance the adaptation of displaced, returnee, and host households to shocks and systemic constraints within Borno State. Bodhi's assessment included an in-depth desk review as well as the collection of qualitative data across the five local government areas of Damboa, Dikwa, Gwoza, Konduga, and Monguno. Building on our gender and conflict-sensitive approach, we designed baseline values for outlined indicators, identified important contextual information and lessons, and provided recommendations for future programming.
